Harish Salve

Harish Salve is a lawyer who served as Solicitor General of India from November 1, 1999 to November 3, 2002. He succeeded Santosh Hegde, who had been appointed a justice of the Supreme Court of India.[1] Salve was a well-known lawyer, and practiced especially in the areas constitutional law, commercial law and taxation law before his appointment. He had previously served as Amicus Curiae for the Supreme Court in multiple cases, and frequently represented parties before the Supreme Court of India and Delhi High Court.
