Pandit Bhimsen Gururaj Joshi (Kannada: ಪಂಡಿತ ಭೀಮಸೇನ ಗುರುರಾಜ ಜೋಷಿ, Marathi: पंडित भीमसेन गुरुराज जोशी, born February 4, 1922) is an Indian vocalist in theHindustani classical tradition. A member of the Kirana Gharana (school), he is renowned for the khayal form of singing, as well as for his popular renditions of devotional music (bhajans and abhangs). In 2008, he was awarded the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honour.

Rukmini Devi Arundale (Tamil:ருக்மிணி தேவி அருண்டேல்) (February 29, 1904February 24, 1986[1] ) was an Indian theosophist, dancer and choreographer in Indian classical dancer form of Bharatnatyam, and also an activist for animal rights, animal welfare and vegetarianism.Rukmini Devi features in India Today's list of '100 People Who Shaped India' She was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 1956, and Sangeet Natak Akademi Fellowship in 1967.

Suryakant Tripathi 'Nirala' (सूर्यकांत त्रिपाठी 'निराला') (February 21, 1896October 15, 1961) was one of the most famous figures of the modern Hindi literature. He was a poet, novelist, essayist and story-writer.
